Volume per app on a Mac
A call is too loud and the music is too quiet. macOS gives you one slider for both.
What macOS offers
There is a single system volume. Some apps have their own volume control inside, like Spotify, Music or a video player, but many don't, and you have to go hunting for it in each one.
How SoundPost handles it
SoundPost puts a volume slider for each app that's playing sound right in its menu bar menu. Drag one down, or mute it, and everything else stays as it was. Turn the browser tab with autoplaying video down, keep the music where it is, and leave the system volume alone.
It's handy for the classic combination of a call plus background music, or for keeping notification sounds quiet while a film plays.
