Keyboard shortcuts inside Mission Control
In Mission Control, ⌘W, ⌘M and friends do nothing. With Mission Boost they act on the window under your cursor.
The shortcuts
Point at a window in Mission Control and press:
- ⌘W to close the window
- ⌥⌘W to close all of that app's windows
- ⌘M to minimize it
- ⌘F to make it full screen
- ⌘H to hide the app
- ⌥⌘H to hide every other app
- ⌘Q to quit the app
They're the shortcuts you already use everywhere else on a Mac, so there's nothing new to learn.
Why this matters
Mission Control is the fastest way to see everything that's open. With these shortcuts it also becomes the fastest way to tidy up: close what you're done with, hide what's distracting, all in one pass and without leaving the overview.
Shortcuts come from Mission Boost, which also adds hover buttons if you prefer the mouse.
